How often does your LO get sick?

I'm so frustrated! My DD was very rarely sick until about a month ago. At the end of Sept. she got a cold with runny nose, mild fever for 4 days. Then a week after she was well she got another cold, runny nose, fever for 5 days. Then, a week after she was well she got Roseola (fever for 5 days, then a rash). And now she has had a fever (100.5) for the past 3 days!! That's 4 times in the past 6 weeks. What gives?

I know they get sick a lot at this age due to lack of immunity but geeesh, is this really normal? I took her to the doctor each time and there were no signs of any infection. We belong to MyGym and go to the park all the time (unless she's sick) where kids are running around with runny noses so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Anyone else experience this?

Re: How often does your LO get sick?

  • We have been very blessed.  DD had one small cold when she was about 5 months old.  Other than that, she has never had the slightest health issue (knock on wood)

  • So far we've done pretty well. Lydia has had a couple runny noses that lasted a couple days. She had a high fever before her first teeth came in that was accompanied by no other symptoms and she shook it after a few days. Nothing else so far...

  • DD has a double ear infection a couple of weeks ago, and that's it. Nothing during teething, and no reaction what so ever to her shots.
  • When dd is in daycare, she gets a cold every and then but when she home with me during vacations and the summer (i'm a teacher) she is fine

  • My DS never got sick until he just turned 1! He got his first cold this month and has had a runny nose for two weeks!! He doesn't go anywhere lately and I am a SAHM who is paranoid about Swine Flu.
