Hi Ladies,
I got my bfp two weeks ago, for the second time. The first time was earlier this year and didn't end well, as I had a miscarriage and d&c in June. This time my betas have been better so I was starting to feel hopeful. I went in for my first u/s today at 6w1d and we saw a heartbeat, but I didn't see a yolk sac. The RE said not to worry about it b/c the heart can't start beating without the yolk sac and that it was probably hiding. I'm a little skeptical b/c I didn't see a yolk sac but heard a strong heartbeat with my first pregnancy at 8 weeks. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this and if this has ever happened to anyone and ended positively?
.. for now i'm just very cautiously saying hi and really hoping that i can stay..
Re: Cautiously saying hi... with a ?
I don't remember looking for the yolk sac once we saw the heartbeat. That was pretty much the only thing that mattered at that point, as far as I knew.
Congratulations. I hope this one sticks! Good luck.
Congrats and welcome!!
Your RE is absolutely right...you can't have a heartbeat without first having a yolk sac...I had a great website about early fetal development, but now I can't find it.
I'll look around and see if I can find it and post it...
