What's so special about dogs?

So Kate officially says "dah" for "dog" and, starting 2 days ago "Tuh-kuh" (Tucker, the dog's name) more often than she says "mama" or "dada".  Yeah, the dog doesn't feed or clothe you, kid!  In fact, he's been known to steal your food!

On a related note, "gog" (dog) was Erin's and Connor's first words, other than mama and dada.  I wonder what makes dogs so special to the little ones?

  • Yeah my dd loves our dogs.  She even gives them kisses when they come within 3 feet of her!  It is the cutest thing ever.
  • Beats me, but Sarah's the same way with Lucy.  As soon as I put her on the floor and she spots Lu, she goes "Doggieeeee" and chases her around the apartment.

  • Let's face it, dogs are WAY more fun and entertaining than we are.  At least I'm sure that's how my son feels.
  • yeah - DD has been saying KAA for cat for about a month and its 100% for the cat.  Mama/Dada - meh sometimes she says it right, sometimes not.  The funniest part of course, is that the cat is terrified of her and runs anytime she's near.

  • DS said my dogs name way more than Mama or Dada too. lol - DS LOVES the dog. LOVES him.
  • Yup.  R LOVES our dogs.  Sadly, they don't feel the same way about her.  I think that they are still holding a little resentment about being knocked down a peg.  :-)
