NBR - Apt. Recommendations around KOP?

DH and I will be relocating to the King of Prussia area and are looking for ideas on apartment communities. We are also open to moving along the 202 corridor into Chester County... so areas like Devon, West Chester, etc are ok too. We're planning on renting for a year and then buying a home... so something affordable that would allow us to save more towards a down payment would be great. We are looking for a two bedroom+ apt. that would be baby friendly. Thanks for any and all advice!

  • Kingswood is nice- (its right by our townhome complex) ~ its not cheap.

gulph mills apt are nice too- i think a little more reasonable.

  • I work for an apartment community 5 minutes from KOP. Check out www.theloftsatvalleyforge.com I can get you a 2 bedroom apartment for around $1500. They are brand new (only 18 months onld), granite countertops, big windows, big bathrooms. right on the Schuylkill River in the Valley Forge Park. Email me! i would love to help! larnett@theloftsatvalleyforge.com
  • Just an fyi...I lived in Kingswood for a year back in 2006 and couldn't get out of there fast enough.  We had cockroaches, leaky ceiling, broken dishwasher and all sorts of maintenance issues that were never fully fixed as of when we left.  Well, the dishwasher was replaced, but it took 3 months after they ripped our old one out to get a new one.

  • When we were looking, we used craigslist (philadelphia) to see what was out there.  We wound up renting an apt in a house rather than in a large apt community.

Chesterbrook has some nice condos and townhomes for rent.  A friend of mine lived in there and it was really nice.  A lot of those rentals go through local real estate offices to rent them out.  Chesterbrook is along 202 at Valley Forge Park.
