?? about u/s

When they do an u/s to date the pregnancy, can they tell you the date of conception?

    When I had my dating u/s I was 10w4days so I just did the backwards math to get a rough idea of my conception date.

    No.  The u/s can only tell you how big the baby is and even then they are not always accurate.  Unless you were charting, the only other person who could know the conception date is mother nature. ;)

     

    Edit- you might be able to *guess* based on what days you had sex- especially if you are not having a lot of it.  LOL    I charted with Lily, so I knew when she was conceived, but I could have also guessed since we didn't have sex much that month due to crazy work schedules.

    It's still just an "estimate." Mine u/s measured 6 days bigger than what it should be, which means I would have still been on my period when that suggests I would have O'd, so obviously it's not exact! ;)

    I don't think so.  I still have no idea when we conceived DS. It could have been any number of days.  All the u/s will give is a good estimate of the age of the fetus.  If you were wanting to know from one day to another when you conceived, the u/s won't be able to tell you.

    well even then - that wouldn't really help 100%.

    Yes get the paternity test to know for sure. and BEFORE the kid is old enough to know what's going on.

    Oh I don't think a paternity test will be needed. Her DH is asian and the other guy is black...

    I think Jerry Springer would be a better fit...
