Is anyone doing this? I guess it makes sense...but seems kind of odd to me. I guess that is because I don't "feel" pregnant yet!
Talk to your baby. It's a great way to start the bonding process. If having an actual conversation seems odd to you, narrate your activities; read a book, magazine, or newspaper; or share your secret wishes for your child. This is great practice for after your baby's born. Talking to babies is one of the best ways to help them develop language skills.
Re: Talking to Baby
I talk all day long (I"m a teacher) so I feel like poor LO would like some peace and quiet once in a while. I'm on the hunt for a good baby book and I want to read it to LO every night in hope that when Baby gets here s/he will recognize the patterns in my voice and it will be soothing for him/her.
I think that whether you make any special efforts or not, the baby will recognize the patterns of it's mother's voice because that is the sound it hears most often. My husband likes to have little conversations with my belly so that the baby knows his voice too! :-)
Days I work from home I talk to the baby. I want to make sure he hears me talking throughout the day. DH also makes time to talk to him and it is really cool to feel him respond to his voice.
We also play different types of music to see what LO responds to.
