  I realize that this search spells it differently - but the RN I worked with spelled it and pronounced it the above way. Now I am curious WTF the difference is?? Lol.

  I work in the medical profession and have always heard it this way.

   But if you don't know how to pronouce something you can always go to spellcheck.com and click on the little speaker next to the word.

  It's the first one, I'm also a nurse. It's a combo of two parts 1. Peri and 2. neal as in "kneel" so pear-i-kneel.
  
  The second pronounciation you have here is like the flower- a perennial vs. an anual, but not how you pronounce the body area between the vagina and anus...
