H1N1 Shot opinion wanted

H Ladies- I had an ectopic about 6 months ago and am just ready to start trying this month. However, I am wondering your opinion about getting the shot. I have calls into 2 of my dr's as well. I am a children's librarian and at my job we have the ability to get the shot next week, no questions asked. I am wondering since I am hoping to get get pregnant soon, should I get the shot? I am leery of vaccinations to begin with and since I lost one child already I am petrified of not doing the right thing for my future child. What are you planning to do? Any advice from your dr's? There is so many mixed messages out there I am very worried and am around kids daily. Thanks!

    I'm not a doctor, but I would want to get it before getting KU if I had the opportunity.  I wouldn't want to get it after though.

    Get the shot. Since you're not currently pregnant, that's one less thing to worry about.

    I would definitely get it sooner than later, but I suppose you should wait to see what your doctor says.  I'm kinda weary to get any flu shot during pregnancy nowadays.

    I'm not one for most vaccines, so I won't be getting it. Just my opinion.

    i agree with the pps. make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients, and also find out if you are getting the one with or without mercury (i got the kind with mercury because that's all they had, but it's a very minimal amount-- about the amount in a can of tuna).

    personally, i think the benefits far outweigh the risks. i got the h1n1 and seasonal flu shots on the same day and i had no ill effects.

    I'm not planning on getting any flu type shots. Not that it matters, since none are available in my area.

    I had my d&c post op yesterday and got the H1N1 vac. They were only giving it to pg patiants but I asked my Dr if there was any way that I could get it because we are going to ttc as soon as we can and I am a kindergarten teacher.... lots of kids in my face... runny noses and coughing all day long. He gave me the shot... thankfully. I would rather have the vac now when I am not pg then wait until later and be unprotected. If I were you I would def get it (:

    I am in the same debate but I can only get when I am PG.  I would prefer to get it now and if they make me wait til BFP then I may decide not to get it.
