If you had boy & girl names picked out for DC #1...

Are you still planning to use/did you use the one you didn't use the first time around?

We still love our boy name and everytime someone in my family has a baby, I pray they don't take our name!

  • Nope, we've thrown them all out and are starting over.  We're glutton for punishment, LOL.

  • As of right now, we'd still use the girl name we had picked out.
  • nope, we started over

  • No but that is because our boy name has the same initials as our girl name and I want them to have different initials.

  • I threw em out and started again.  I'm glad I did, Rachel is such a Rachel!

  • Yes and no.  Our boy name with DD was Jacob, we decided against using it for DS only to come back around and choose it as our boy name for this baby.

    DD2 - 12.03.09
    DD3 - 3.28.11
  • We are still going to use the names we had picked out for a girl because I've always loved it and always wanted to use it!  For a boy, we obviously have to start over because we already used it...

  • Starting over.  Shoot me now.  I don't know why the names we liked last time have no appeal now.

  • We never had a girl name picked out. We waited until the u/s to even start talking. Most of the boy names are still on my short list, but again, we will likely wait until really discussing it.

  • We won't use the girl name we had picked out with DS for a future girl. It became really popular and some friends/family used it, not to mention it just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore.

It's so strange, had he been a girl that would be his name right now and I'm sure I would still love it. I wonder how I would have felt about his name if it had been the other way around?

  • Nope.  Oddly enough, our favorites changed in such a short amount of time.  Praying this baby is a boy because we cannot agree on girl names.
  • Likely yes, but that is only because we had a really hard time picking a boy's name, and there really was only one that we liked.  We used to joke before DD was born that we would be really screwed if we ever ended up with 2 boys.
  • My dh and I have had a boy's name picked out for years...we had a hard time picking a name for dd. If this baby is a boy then we'll use that name, and we already decided on a girl's name that goes well with dd's name.

  • My girl name is still top on my list for this time around.  We didn't really discuss names very much last time until we knew the gender.
  • Yes, I have had the same girl name for about 10 years and I am not giving it up!!
  • I'm 85% sure we'd use the girl name originally picked out should we ever have a girl.

  • we started over....isabella rose is just sooooooo ridiculously popular that i didn't want to use it anymore.  i have a common name and HATED it growing up.  not that kayleigh isn't a popular name (just different spellings)...guess we kinda defeated the purpose....

  • If we have another boy, we're screwed. We agree on NO other names except Aidan for a boy!

For a girl, we will probably use our girl name from last time (Tessa Morgan).

  • NO. ?The name we'd chosen if DS was a girl was Cooper (grandma's maiden name). ?

I will NOT name my children Anderson & Cooper.

  • With DD, my DH would not discuss names until we knew what we were having. We just couldn't agree on names and he didn't want to fight or upset me (it was super annoying). Once it was a girl, we had a short list and then picked Sydney. Runner up was Samantha.

If this baby was a girl, her name would have for sure been Samantha.

Now, we are having a boy - - Noah  - - and are done. But, if for some reason something changes and we have another baby (lol) I am guessing it would probably be Samantha for a girl and Miles for a boy =)

  • Joseph was named for my late father. Our girl name on deck was for Matthew's late mother.

If we have a girl, she will still be Marianna Aurora Rose.

  • We used the only boy name we could decide on for DS.  If we have a girl next, DH wants to keep our original name, but I do not want it anymore.  It was Madeleine and I feel like it's too popular now.

OMG me too! My cousin is pregnant and I'm getting nervous lol....they don't even now if it's a boy or a girl, though, I might not have anything to worry about Smile

  • with DD we had noah and jackson picked out if she had been a boy. We are going with Noah with this baby:)

  • Our boy name was Madden James.  I think we are both over that name, but you never know, we might change our minds again.  We had a completely different girl name picked out, and the day before our ultrasound my husband picked Raegan.  That is our daughter's name.

  • Well, if we were having more kids and had a girl, yes, we would use the girl name that we had picked out because I love it.
