1st Trimester

F/U to Expecting the Worst

So I finally heard back from the doctor's assistant.  She said she called the u/s tech and said that the u/s has not been read by the doctor yet.  She stated that she will have it read and faxed over tonight, which means I won't  know the results until tomorrow morning.

The assistant also stated that the tech's reply to my concern was "Well, we don't HAVE to tell her anything!".  Ugh, even the assistant thought she was completely insensitive and rude.  No one asked HER for a diagnosis, we wanted to hear what the DR had to say.

My OB is aware of the situation and said she will make a call in the morning.  I was also told that in most cases if the pregnancy is not vital they contact the OB within the same day, usually.  So, I guess for now no news is good news.

I have to admit, I might be overreacting, but still....  if someone is questioning whether their unborn child is alive or not there needs to be some sensitivity.  I really don't care about the dates, or measurements, or HR at this time, I just wanted to know if there is life there.

Thanks for letting me vent my worries.  We haven't even told family yet about the pregnancy (waiting until 2nd trimester) so I can't speak to my mom, or sisters, or anyone I know that has gone through this.  Hopefully tomorrow I will hear some good news.

  • That sucks.  People in the medical field really should learn to be sensitive.  Wanting to care for people is WHY I went to nursing school, and it should just that and not just a paycheck.  I really hope thing turn out to be the very best for you.  Best of luck and lots of T&P.

  • My fingers are crossed for you.

You must be feeling pretty overwhelmed.

Try your best to relax. Hopefully good news will come tomorrow.

    Good luck :)

  • I'm sorry, that IS a crap attitude from that tech. And just because you haven't told yet, doesn't mean you can tell now, when you need support.
