Baby socks...that stay on and are warm

Evan kicks off his baby socks within seconds, and now that he is wearing more outfits, not just sleep 'n plays, I want to find socks that will stay on and are warm and/or are there other types of footwear (not shoes) that are warm for infants and stay on.  TIA!

  • Are his feet pretty small? When Eve was tiny, and she had tiny little feet and skinny little ankles, the ONLY socks that would stay on her were "fisher price" brand from Family Dollar.. They were called "newborn booties" and they are TINY but kind of fluffy.. She outgrew them pretty quickly, but while they fit her, they were great.

  • We found some booties at babies r us that would work...I wish I had a photo. The foot part was made out of a thicker fabric...kinda like fleece/felt and the part that goes above the ankle looks like the wrist cuff of a sweatshirt. A few inches of strechyness that hold snug to the ankle/lower leg area. I hope that even makes a little sense. They never fell off and were great esp for going outside. We're due for a trip  to BRU and if my pg brain can remember I'll look at the name of them.
  • We've had luck with Old Navy socks.  They have lots of elastic to help them stay on.
  • I'll second the FP socks.  Someone gave us the 2 girl colors of a pack they had recieved.  They aren't super plush but they are tight enough that they don't get kicked/rubbed off easily.  They must have different kinds though- we had the bobby sock style; G was able to wear them from birth until about 7/8 months.
  • The Starter brand ones from Wal-Mart.  They aren't a ton of fun colors but that's all I use for Asher.  It helps that they are all one color because the matches are super simple.  They are a little thicker than ones I've found.
  • I would usually put a pair of Robeez knock offs (from Target) over his socks & they stayed on

  • My Mom got us smart wool socks for infant/baby and we LOVE them! :)

  • I second Robeez! Although I dislike the knock offs (Mini Star I think?) from Target. We have both and the brand names ones are much nicer and better quality! He has NEVER kicked socks off with them on, and they don't make his feet sweat either!

I also like ON socks, they stay on pretty well. I dislike WalMart (faded glory) and Target (Chico) socks, they always fall off.
