They are getting harder by the hour..

Noticed they were a little stiff this morning.  LO has fed quite a bit last night and today already..and they are getting harder and more painful as the day goes on. 

Should I put a warm cloth on them?  Or just deal with it.  Doesn't seem like she's getting milk yet, but still colostrum. 

I don't want to pump because I don't want to mess up my supply, but it's probably already messed up since she won't feed without nipple shields.

DD1(4):VSD & PFO (Closed!), Prenatal stroke, Mild CP, Delayed pyloric opening/reflux, Brachycephaly & Plagiocephaly, Sacral lipoma, Tethered spinal cord, Compound heterozygous MTHFR, Neurogenic bladder, Urinary retention & dyssynergia, incomplete emptying, enlarged Bladder with Poor Muscle Tone, EDS-Type 3. Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

    Pump!  This will help w/engorgement and won't mess with your supply. Just don't pump too much. Only enough to relieve the pressure.

    Hand express some milk until your comfortable. Just keep rubbing your boobs towards your areaola and milk should come out. Also, my lactation consultant told me not to use heat since it increases inflammation, but to use ice for 10 min at a time. Fill a diaper with crushed ice worked really for me becasue it would wrap around my breast.

    you are only 3 days in, you are not messing anything up.  Your milk is probably coming in.  my boobs were like rocks early on and I never pumped just dealt with it.   GL

    congrats - your milk is in.

    go nurse. massage any lumps. nurse some more. wake her evry 2 hours yo nurse (3-4 hr at night) because her tummy will be fulll she might want to sleep longer but you need her to eat for your comfort and keep ggood supply.

    nipple shields shouldn't hurt your supply.
