Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Please tell me I'm not the only one

who sometimes counts down the hours until DD's bedtime.  I love spending time with her, but some days (like today) I really need some mommy time.

  • I'm right there with you!  DS goes to bed at 6:30 so I'm pretty lucky to have most evenings to myself.

  • Loading the player...
  • Are you kidding? Totally!! As soon as I feed her dinner the countdown is ON!

  • On very bad days, yes.  But those are few and far between for me :)
  • You're not the only one!

I love DS more than anything in this world and the baby months were pretty easy for me, but toddlerhood is very trying on me! I guess I will adapt but I'm so tired by the end of the day and ready for DH to take over.

  • Bwahahaha!  Not the only one for sure!  Sometimes I look at the clock when I am making my kids breakfast (23 months and 4 years old) and think that in a mere twelve hours they will be in bed!  :-)

I've never really admitted that before.

  • haha the other night i said "omg its dark!! what time is it?! bedtime!!?" and dh laughed so hard at my excitement.

  • On the days DH works late, yes.  I love my kid, but am tired of pulling him off of everything he's climbing lately.
  • Oh definitely... I loved when DD took two naps, now that we're down to 1 I get excited when it starts to get dark because I know bed time is just around the corner. DD is an extremely active kid and was not an easy baby, so I've always looked forward to a little quiet time at night!

Yes...This!  DD thinks the gate is called "no".  She actually just started saying "no" yesterday and pointing at the gate the is blocking the table that I keep finding her on, where she is trying more than anything to turn the lamp on.  DH is gone all day today and I'm counting down until 8:30 bedtime.  Damn it.

  • I am tonight as I need to finish an assignment for my grad school class.  If I can get it done tonight, I'll be done with my class a month early.  I can't wait to not have to do work at night for a few months until next semester.  I just want to veg out after DD goes to bed.

  • you're not alone! today is one of those days for me big time! esp since DH is still at work and won't be home till 8ish! the fact that it gets dark her at like 530 doesn't help either!

Me too!  But, then a few hours after she's asleep I miss her and want to go in and get her.  lol  Then I snap out of it!
