We got the baby signs starter kit. It came with a few little board books, a dvd for parents and one for baby, and a refrigerator reference chart. We don't use any of it anymore. You're welcome to have them if you want. If you're interested just email me.

Are you sure? I would LOVE to take those off your hands if you like. I'll email you. Thx!!!?
You're not late. Don't worry about it. I know families who haven't started until after their LO is about a year and they still see benefits. I suspect your husband will get on board when he sees it in action :-)

We started signing around 4-5 months. E still does not sign back and I cannot tell if she understands them yet. I am not worried, she seems to be behind other kids developmentally anyway. I will continue to be persistent though.

Most literature says that babies don't start signing back until 9-16 months. E's not late at all.
We only do a few basic signs and started around when he could sit up (so I could use my hands!) at 5 months. He signed milk at about 9 months or so, maybe later. He was late to use other gestures and didn't really start communicating back until about 13 months on a regular basis.
We've been using the sign for 'milk' for a couple of months, but I just started taking a baby sign language class yesterday. I'm excited to learn more and put it all to use!

We used the sign milk early on, but signing other things didn't happen until Emmy was eating solid foods because we mostly used signs for her to tell us what she needed.
Re: Signing w/ LO...when did you start?
Arrgh! I'm behind schedule. Must.start.now. ...and, I must say, I'm so excited to start. Do you guys have any book recs on signing?
DH isn't on board, I don't think he 'gets' it....but I'll get him on board, that's for sure!?

We'll be starting at birth (and doing full on ASL due to a potential genetic hearing issue that Bunny could have).
We're using the Signing Time ( https://www.signingtime.com/ ) program and there's a class at the Harmony Studio ( https://www.harmonybirth.com/newfamilies/sign.html ) we'll be taking.
