i was told to get a flu shot around 22/23 weeks. I have been looking EVERYWHERE for one! i got to the point that i asked my sister who is nurse that if i came to her hospital - could she give me one!
just wondering- for anyone that didnt get one... was it by choice? or dumb luck like me....
how big a deal is it to not have one?
Re: anyone NOT get a flu shot?! everywhere ran out!

My doc's office couldn't help me. So I went to washingtonpost.com and they had a list of all of the innoculation clinics in the area. I was dreading the long lines, etc. but as it turned out it was easier than I thought...I got in line at a HS in DC at 8 AM and was out with the shot by 9:45 this past saturday.
Maybe they're doing something similar in NJ? I know one of the counties in MD had a clinic exclusively for pregnant women. Also, keep in contact with your doc and pharmacy, in the coming weeks more vaccines will be made avilable through these channels. If you get desparate, I'd lean on your OB's office for help.

Not getting it. By choice.
Hopefully you will be able to find one soon, I am sure that would be frustrating!
Here is the link for nj to find locations, this is how I found a clinic. https://web.doh.state.nj.us/apps2/flu/fluschedules.aspx
I also live in Nothern NJ and couldnt find it. I have been checking Wallgreens and it seems like they are starting to get the vacine up here. But I havent found any that has the one the pregos can take.
My FIL is on the board of two local hospitals and haven't even been able to get it through him. He was told within the next month it should become more available.
Cross our fingers!
I just got mine, through the county health department (just H1N1 not seasonal, I don't have that one yet).
The only reason I got one is because i'm not only immunizing myself but I'm essentially immunizing the baby. (any antibodies not passed through the plancenta will be passed in breastmilk.)
But it's a totally personal choice. You shouldn't feel guilty for not getting one, you tried!
Hey, there, fellow NJ resident!
Two weeks ago, DH called the Department of Health and got a listing of clinics (free) where the shot was being offered. Note that "offered" doesn't mean you'll get it. I live in Jackson, work in Clark, and we drove like bats outta he!! to Manahawkin to get to a clinic that started at 3. We got there at 3 and waited over 3 hours but I got the shot.
It's really a matter of personal choice, but I was determined to find and get the shot. Here's the DOH website. If you find a clinic, get there as early as you can and be patient. We brought a note from the dr saying I was pg just in case it was required (some clinics need it if you don't 'look' pg). https://www.state.nj.us/health/flu/h1n1.shtml
Supposedly, there are new shipments of vaccines coming in late Nov.
Good luck,
Sandi
awesome! thanks~
urbanwifey- thanks! it made me smile when you said "dont feel quilty, you tried!"

I'm not getting either of the flu shots, by choice. Here is an article that might help calm your nerves if you aren't able to get it....https://swineflu.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/11/03/What-We-Have-Learned-About-the-Great-Swine-Flu-Pandemic.aspx
