Hi,
I have my eye on the Munire Essex set for our baby. I'm due in March, but I'm wondering if the best time to buy the furniture is at USA Baby's "once a trimester sale". Does anyone know if they actually mark down the furniture during this time, or is it only on scratch & dent/floor models?
If you have any experience shopping these sales, please let me know what your impressions were. Thanks!
Re: USA Baby sale ?? = best time to buy furniture??
I think they're always having the "once a trimester sale". It is on ordered furniture. I think the sales are pretty good.
We bought our baby furniture there (Munire Majestic collection). It was a decent experience. Our furniture arrived later than they estimated and the dresser wasn't in the best condition (scratches, water damage), but we notified the store and they ordered a replacement. The replacement came (took another 12 weeks, but we kept the defective one in the mean time since DS was just about ready to be born) and it was better. Next time around (if there is a next time), I don't think we'll get as "fancy" of furniture. We'll go the BRU route.
What kind of rail guards did you get? Is that for the converting to a toddler or full size bed? Our dresser also chipped!! ...and the crib is also looking like it might have been chipped and was colored in with a marker or something....didn't notice it until more recently when DS started sleeping in his crib!!
Now that I know what I know, I wish I would have just gone the Ikea route. Inexpensive, utilitarian, mostly cute. He loves the toddler beds at Ikea and now we are stuck with an expensive convertable that he just wants to color on.
Fun, not fancy:)

The gel ones from BRU work pretty good to cover the railings. Unfortuately I waited too long in getting them and it looks like the crib rails were attacked by a beaver. We did by the conversion stuff, but at the condition it's in already I'm not thinking it will ever be converted unless we can find someone to refinished it. They told me the chipping is normal wear, which I don't really believe.
we got our furniture there, but had such horrible customer service from them when we ordered our car seat we will never go back.
I love our furniture (we got's Baby's Dream), but next time, I'll drive to St Cloud (the only other MN retailer right now) to get it.
We ordered a Forever Cocoon set from them and were really pleased. The furniture came in long before their estimates - they said 8-12 weeks and we got it in 4 weeks, but this depends on the manufacturer. The delivery guys were great (we paid the extra to have them assemble the crib, which I thought was well worth it), and we had a great service experience. We saved quite a bit off their original prices, but everyone is right, the once a trimester sale is really like the 3 times a trimester sale
