Work is throwing me a surprise shower and I wont' be here!!

My department is having a shower for me at my boss's house tonight. It's like mandatory fun, no one likes my boss, so no one really wants to go, and only my department is obligated.

I have tons of friends at work though that I thought there was a good chance they'd do something else for me.

Well I worked the weekend so I asked my boss for a half day today and she said yes. I just went and made a cup of tea and the work fridge is filled with pink baby cupcakes, really cute ones. Apparently someone is throwing me a party. But I'm not going to be here, I'm leaving in a few minutes to go home, ahhh! I don't know who to tell because I don't know who is planning the party, and sending out a mass email to all my friends telling them I'm taking a half day just seems weird.

So someone planned a party that I won't be here for, and our office has off for Veterans Day tomorrow so we can't do it tomorrow either. I may have to stay at work all day just for this. Sad

Could the cupcakes be for the party tonight?

No because the party is at my boss's house, she wouldn't bring them to work with her, we're on the 3rd floor, she would have had to get a cart to bring all of them up. There are also way too many, there's no way half that many people will be at the party tonight.
