Growing up, my mom always made us drink a lot of orange juice during cold/flu season. It got me thinking about the little ones. Will you/do you give your toddler orange juice through the winter? If he gets juice now (apple, grape, etc) it's watered down and not very often. Just curious about your thoughts.
Re: Orange juice for toddlers
We don't give DS juice at all.
I would do fresh-squeezed OJ for vitamin C...but that's about it.
Bambino didn't start drinking juice until 2 and even now, it's not all that often. When he was sick and couldn't stomach food/milk, I'd have some on hand and dilute it. Other than that, we make sure to always have fresh fruit around. I also made purees during the summer and would defrost them to have in yogurt, as a pancake 'dip' or however! FWIW, bambino still doesn't drink oj and he's 28 mos.
Charlie has a splash of OJ every other day or so. We started because it was the only way to get his liquid vitamins down. Now I throw his probiotics in there, or in milk, whichever he asks for in the morning.
He gets maybe an ounce of juice & the rest is water, so its really more of a taste thing than nutritional benefit.
