I am having such a hard time this time around. I'm not into cartoons, or jungle themes, or sports themes. I bought the Mod monkey from BRU and I'm not loving it. I do like the Mod Dot from SHJ but I can't find anything to accent it. I was thinking owls, but everything is geared towards a girl's room.
Why do all these places come up with the cutest girl stuff but all of them are seriously lacking when it comes to boys!?!?!
Any suggestions?
Re: Anyone having a hard time with a boy's nursery?
It is tough. Unisex is still an option. Have you checked out babyroombio?

When we have #2 and if it's a boy I like this set https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3166978
With DS's room we went with light blues and greens and if we have another boy I want to go with something not so baby, and I think this fits.
And I also foud this website https://www.seasidetreasures.com/ It's got some cute decor
Ditto Resoration Hardware - just dots and stripes, no theme at all.

We aren't doing a theme.
We had the nursery painted at 8 weeks...when we obviously did not know what we were having, and we just sort of went from there. I really like the way it turned out.
We picked material that matched the paint colors, went with a mixture of white and brown furniture, and used fun accent colors.
This is what we ended up with.
And we'll be getting a solid lime green rug to bring out the greens in the room.
I like it much better than doing a "theme". Good luck!
I think its harder for you because you already have a boy and probably would have several ideas saved up if you had a girl this time. ?For me, I already have two boys, and have a list a mile wide of ideas for boys rooms, but can't find a thing I truly like for girls, its all too frilly and fancy and babyish, and just not my style. ?In my case, this is because?the thought of having a girl just doesn't do anything for me, not that I wouldn't love whatever child I have equally, its just that I do not have a strong ?desire to have a daughter. If I do ever have a daughter, I would likely go gender neutral to?compensate?for too frilly. ?You could do this too. This is what I love right now that's gender neutral, and I like it equally for a boy.?

I also love the SH mod dots too. ?That would be great for you. ?There is an artist on etsy that makes owl and chick drawings that would match this set, and are not too girly at all. I do not?remember?her name, but search for chick art and she should come up.
I hate sports themes too. My favorite idea for a boy right now is getting solid navy and khaki or navy and gray if they get the gray fabric back in bedding made from
https://www.babybedding.com/
and using orange for the trim and ties on the bedding. ?Then I would put it with this rug....

I want something that is itneractive since I know my older two boys will be spending alot of time in there too. ?This is darling and will keep them?occupied. ?Plus it will be a great addition to a big boy room or playroom down the road. ?I would buy an airplane mobile to hang from the ceiling ?above the changing table and do his name on the wall with orange letters. ?I would also get an orange changing pad, but then get navy curtains, and keep the rest of the accents navy. ?The walls are already universal khaki from Sherwin Williams and I would keep it.
?Good Luck, I know you can something, just think outside the boxed bedding set, and add you you touch.?
We're using this bedding for our boy nursery:
I didn't want anything overly babyish (little animals) or boyish (cars, etc.). I love the primary colors in it and the fact that it's not theme-y.

There's a lot of modern, non-theme ways you can go. I spent a lot of time on Rate My Space looking at nurseries, there's tons of good inspiration on there. We ending up doing a theme, which I love, but there were definitely other ways I could have went.
Could you go to a fabric store and pick out your own and have someone make it for you (or make it yourself if you're crafty).
I'm also not into the cartoons, jungle, sports, etc. either. I plan on making mine so I get something funky and unique for this reason.
i feel exactley the same! i cannot find anything i like at all. there is so much more for girls than boys its crazy. heres the bedding im thinking of.
