Tonight at our labor and delivery class the instructor said when I check in, I'll put on a hospital gown, and no underwear (obviously) and no bra! I am wondering why/if I can wear a wireless bra. I'll feel pretty uncomfortable if I have to be there for hours on end without a bra on!
Just wondering what others have experienced and hoping I can get them to bend this "rule" if that's what it is...
Re: Were you allowed to wear a bra during labor?
I thought the same thing, but when I got to the hospital I realized my sports bra was so wet from sweat because I was rushing around packing my bag that I took it off. The problem with keeping it on is that if you have to take it off for some reason (emergency c-section or whatever) they will either have to cut it off or hep-lock your IV.
Seriously, you won't care at all.
I wore mine.
BFP#1 on 02/14/09 BIRTH to Mason 6lb9oz on 10/12/09
BFP#2 on 5/28/11 EDD 2/1/12 Natural M/C on 6/13/11
BFP#3 on 1/20/12 EDD 9/30/12 Natural m/c on 1/27/12
BFP#4 on 4/23/12 BIRTH to Isabella 7lb1oz on 12/19/12
This for me too, for both LO's.
I wore a bra & shorts in the beginning. Then I took the shorts off while I labored in the tub/shower. Then I ditched the bra and ended up naked for a LONG time. I was so hot and in and out of water it didn't make sense to keep taking clothes on and off. And I was much more comfortable naked. It was nice

I was allowed to wear whatever I wanted but I did not wear a bra - makes it much easier to nurse post delivery
ETA: I did not labor at the hospital so this was just for pushing/delivery. I labored naked in a tub most of the time

This.
This except I did end up taking it off after the epi b/c it was annoying not being hooked. Would have been easier to take it off at the beginning b/c I ended up having to take my gown off, etc... to get it all the way off, but I was happy I wore it as long as I did for support.

Yes, I wore a sports bra.
The only issue was that once I wanted to take it off (after he was born and about to nurse), I wasn't able to due to the IV of fluids I was getting at the time. I was able to pull it down, but it was uncomfortable after awhile.
