MIL & FIL tongiht, but they CANCELED on us. We were supposed to be at their house this evening to catch up and do dinner. Well, when we were 2 minutes from their house they called DH to cancel. Yes, I said 2 minutes from their house. They canceled on us to visit a grandkid practice gymnastics. Practice is every Mon. and Wed. This was no special practice. I know they had no idea the news we were going to tell them, but who cancels plans two minutes when your guests are supposed to be there. Wish I could say this is an isolated experience, but it always feels that we are second string when it comes to the rest of the family or even their friends. My BIL and SIL even comment that they can't believe how they treat us. So frustrating!!! I was so looking forward to this night.
Thanks for letting me vent. I think I need to go get a pumpkin pie blizzard.

I agree - they'll probably feel bad. Not that that's any consolation, but whatever. Enjoy your Blizzard!
I wrote in another thread how pumpkin pie may just be a nutritionally perfect food...& a blizzard is even better! I'd be happy to reiterate here, if it would make you feel better.
Sorry the IL's rained on your parade.
I'm sorry they canceled.
I would not tell them and when they notice the bump and say.. hey is there any news cancel on them
I know it's childish but that drives me nuts I had a friend who did that all the time.
I'm thinking that they won't cancel so much when they find out what's under your shirt
Still, that's crappy. My dad cancelled on my an hour before I was supposed to come over and tell the news. Actually, he was the first person, other than DH, that I planned to tell in my family. Nope, he was about the 6th for cancelling.
