TTC After a Loss

Ovulation type pain after D&C

I had a D&C on Friday(11/6) the past two days I've had ovulation type pain down low, obviously, and a little lower back pain. The doctor didn't give me any pain meds so I've been taking Motrin which seems to help slightly. The pain isn't so much intense as it is annoying....has anyone else had this?

No fever, no heavy bleeding, just spotting.

Re: Ovulation type pain after D&C

  • Sorry, I can't really relate.  I had a natural m/c and it was crazy painful...  I imagine that it will go away with time.

I see you're pretty new to these parts.  Sorry about the m/c.  I know it's super tough to deal with, but the girls on this board are pretty helpful and supportive.  And fun to laugh with.  I hope your stay here is short, and in the meantime, we're happy to have you.

  • I had a d&c back in June and it's normal to have a few twinges and pains afterwards. I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless it gets unbearable. Sorry for your loss!
  • Welcome!  I think this is pretty normal.  I had cramping for about a week after.  I hope it goes away for you soon!

  • About 2 days after my first d/c I had a lot of pain, worse than period type cramps.  Same with my second one as well.  Totally normal.  I did ask my doctor for pain meds after my second one though since I knew the first one wasn't the greatest.

    Sorry for your loss.

  • I had pain as well after my D&C - but I was told by my doc it was pretty normal.  It was like light cramping.
