Mine is still in. I took it out at like 10 weeks with my first pregnancy but still got a stretch mark so I'm leaving it in until it starts to hurt. I'm doing fine so far, though. My belly button isn't even close to popping.
Mine still looks a mess from DS. That was almost 4 years ago...
I took it out when I was a few months pregnant with him and it didn't matter. The scars are pretty bad, and while they did lighten a bit over time, it still looks awful. And the hole isn't even closed yet, I can still stick a thin earring into it.
I had one, but I took it out in aug of 2007 when I had to get my tonsil's out & decided then I don't want to be a mom with a belly ring (few years late). Right now it's just a hole. Very small...
i had the typical belly piercing and also had my stomach pierced horizontally under my belly button and the scars are pretty bad.. i regret having the piercings =[
but try rubbing Vitamin E oil on it everyday ... its helped a little with mine
Mine grew in several years ago, but still have a pretty bad scar. It doesn't look that bad now, but the only little stretch mark I have is right at that scar. I think that was a "weakness" point where the skin decided to stretch. Over all tho, it doesn't look that bad.
I have a belly button ring. I took mine out around 25 weeks or so, b/c it was starting to feel uncomfortable. I purchased one of the flexible ones that you can cut to any size that you need, I found it to be a waste of money. It doesn't go in very well b/c it is plastic, so when you try to put it through the hole it bends and flexes, I had more problems with it in than with it out. Mine still pretty much looks the same as it did before. Although I do have stretch marks started on the upper hole, but nothing I can do about that. Hopefully they will fade in time.
I actually took mine out about a year before I was pregnant and at this point it just looks like a little dark circle on my tummy. I will suggest that you keep an eye on it and (this may sound gross) make sure the puss gets cleaned out of it... I had had mine for about 7 years when I took it out so it was obviously fully healed, but probably 6 months after I took out my ring I was looking at it and squeezed a bunch of puss out that was stuck under the skin. DH wanted to barf, I just giggled
I took my ring out the day I found out I was pregnant. The hole closed up before I started to show and there isn't an ugly scare. It may be different thought if the hole doesn't have time to close before your stomach starts to stretch.

I have one of the flexible maternity belly rings in right now, and it's working well for me so far. I have a very small, round area of scar tissue just around the top of the piercing site, and that's it. I'm starting to get an "outie" but the entire piercing moved to above the rim of my navel some time in second tri.

I still have mine in. My belly button isn't ready to pop yet and I'm not uncomfortable, so I figured I'd leave it in until it starts to bother me. I did get a flexible one, but I found the metal one is more comfortable.
I switched to a flexible PTFE bar (1" long for stretching/wiggle room) around 25 weeks and it survived the pregnancy just fine. I switched back to my old jewelry two weeks after delivering.

This. So far so good.....we'll see how the next few weeks go
I had one and then got the flexible maternity one and it gave me an infection so I just took it out. You can see the hole, but it doesn't look terrible. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.
I still have mine in as my belly button has not popped. I have a huge pump and ugly stretch marks but the hole for my belly ring looks just fine (sometimes I take it out just to see if I can get it back in and all is well) There is hope for you keeping it
