1st Trimester

When did your M/S Ease up? :(

M/S is a beyotch.  :)  I have the most amazing hubby, family, friends......and I feel blessed to be pregnant.  But M/S has made me depressed (I've never been depressed before)....especially when I puke up nothing but acid and my throat burns to the point where I can't even drink water it hurts too much.  After 6PM I can't leave the house....all I do is puke until bedtime.  I don't feel like myself.  I only crave junk food and then I feel guilty for eating it.  I can't stand my favorite foods.  Sigh.  I hate lying to everyone too, especially at work.  I feel a disconnect from the baby at this point because of it and then I feel guilty for that.  Sigh.  Sigh.  I'm hoping the U/S on Friday will bring it more to reality for me.  It'll be our 1st appointment and to see there really is a little baby in there would help.  But yeah....please tell me this goes away soon.  Give me hope.  haha

  • I'm sorry you're so sick.  I haven't been too sick with this pregnancy, but I was very nauseous with my 1st.  Be sure to ask your doctor for a prescription if you haven't already.  It may really help.  In the meantime, have you tried Sea Bands?  I'm not sure about vomiting, but they helped me with my queasiness.  Also, don't feel guilty for eating junk food.  Eating something is better than nothing, right?  I hope your appointment goes well and you get some relief soon!
  • Ya know, I have had some of the same feelings. Luckily I haven't been throwing up but my nausea has been so severe in the last week that I can't function. I'm having trouble enjoying the fact that my husband and I are going to have our first baby =/ So far it just seems like a really bad sickness...not a precious little baby. I have had feelings of resentment and I feel bad for that. I can't wait until this pregnancy actually feels like a pregnancy!

  • 2 more weeks would be great.  :)

I have tried EVERYTHING natural.  Sea Bands, ginger, preggie pops, Vitamin B6..... trying to avoid meds if I can per my doctors advice through email. We'll see.....

I really want to start thinking precious little baby too.

  • It really is different for everyone. I threw up everday from weeks 7-17 with the last one. After a while, you just get into a new sucky routine. I am scared to death to be that sick again since I now have a toddler who needs me.

There's no way I can be this ill with a toddler.  How do single moms do it?  sigh.

  • With PG #1 at 18 weeks (threw up 1-2 times a day) With PG #2 at 26 weeks (threw up 4 times a day) With PG #3 at 12 weeks (only threw up 5 times total!) I think fate must have decided I had suffered enough with morning sickness.
  • Mine isn't over yet. But, I wanted to encourage you to talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for anti nausea medicine (zofran worked best for me).

I was in the same place as you. I started getting really depress. I cried for hours a day (which is bad when you can barely drink anything). I couldn't see an end in sight, and was so disconnected from my baby. I felt so bad because I felt like I wasn't even excited to be pregnant anymore.

But, going on the zofran made a huge difference. I feel sooooooo much better. I'm still not 100 percent. I feel sicker in the morning and at night, but I can function again which is so valuable. I don't resent the baby anymore and I haven't felt depressed in a couple of weeks (I've been on zofran for a month).

    Good luck!!
