I just got diagnosed with pcos and I don't know where to go from here.
We went off bc in March and everything seemed fine until Sept came and
I didn't get a period and then didn't get one in Oct either will all
test being neg. I went to my dr. and he put me on Provera and then did
a 3-day ultrasound then put me on Femera and did another ultrasound on Thurs. and told me to come back Mon (being tomorrow) again. When I try
to ask him questions he really doesn't say much and if he does he's talking really fast and you can't understand him, its like he wants to get out of there or thinks I should know everything he's talking about and only on Thurs. did
he tell me I had pcos but didn't go into details about it. I'm not sure what I should be asking or what he
should be checking for. If someone could give me some things to ask him
at tomorrow's appt.or where we should go from here that would be great.
Thanks!
Are you going with your husband/spouse to the appointment tomorrow? You need to write down a list of ALL your questions and demand you get answers that make sense to you. Your doctor is working for you. It's hard to think that sometimes because you are at their mercy but you have to be your own advocate and from the sounds of it you do not like how you've been treated so far. I don't blame you! He kind of sounds like a jerk. You need to stick up for yourself and then move forward.
I don't know if you've done any research to PCOS but there are several places to get information online. I find speaking with other people who have gone through or are going through something similar better because you can at least find out what sort of treatments they're on to get an idea of what to expect.
Thanks! I went in this morning with a list of questions and got them all answered. After my u/s he sat down with me for about 20mins and answered all of them and he left me feeling confident again not only in him but in myself.
