Can anyone tell me where you found your bookcase for the nursery? I had a huge debacle with the one I ordered from JCP and now Im bookcase-less and in a nesting frenzy. I found a couple at Target that might work but the quality just seemed so-so (am I wrong, Target bookcase buyers?). Im hoping to stay in the $100 price range but Id be willing to spend up to $300ish for a really nice quality one. Im looking for a mid-tone brown if that helps (a little lighter and less red than cherry)

Re: On the hunt for a bookcase
Have you thought of purchasing an unfinished solid wood one? You could get one for less than $100, it would be solid, and you could stain it yourself to match the color you are going for.
FWIW I did buy a bookshelf at Target like 6 years ago, and it still seems to be ok! Granted, it is a smaller bookcase (2 shelves) that doesn't hold the bulk of our books) but still. I've also had one from IKEA that does hold the bulk of our books and was $30. It's definitely starting to show its age, but it still works for now.
Overstock has some good ones. But I don't even want to spend $100 if I don't have to, so I'm still looking.
For DS #1, we got a decent one for $50 but that place went out of business, so I'm still on the hunt.
Every bookcase we found that would work in LO's room was alot more than we wanted to spend. Sure he'll have this for a long time but we couldn't justify spening that much money.
Went to a couple of unfinished furniture stores and the quality was awful. So between dh and I we put plans together to build exactly what we wanted.
So a visit to home depot we got everything we needed and spent less than 75.00!
