Re: Ideas for Toddler Christmas Card Pictures????

  • Last year when I took M for her "fancy pics", there was another fam who had matching holiday pj's on and they looked sooooooooooo cute, they wore those and little santa hats and took pics infront of the tree background!

  • I think this year I'm going to do a bunch of close-ups of DD's smiling face, then on the side write "Wishing you JOY" or something like that.

  • This may be cheesy, but I would choose one of dc's favorite activities right now trains, cooking, backhoes, etc... and make the card around him/her doing what she loves to do. Toss in a santa hat and some ornaments or something to bring Christmas into it. This way you can look back at the picture and remember fondly what life was like at that stage.

    I like this idea!!!

  • Opening fake gifts. Like just boxes or bags you wrapped to take pictures with.

  • In the past I have always just done a family pic for our holiday card then just a random pic of each of the girls that was recently taken and was more close up.  This year, I am going for the Shutterfly ones where you can use 9 pictures - what I have so far (and it might change before I order it) is a family picture from my SILs recent wedding, a pic of DH and I from the wedding adn one of each of the girls alone at the wedding and then some random cute pics of the girls together with their soccer shirts one, with our dog,a and other pics that just speak for my girls personalites rather than doing anything possed.

I love teh PJ idea that was mentioned above but I really love the more casual cards that I always get than the posed pictures - or throw the kids in the leaves and take some pics and use that - something fun that really shows personality.

  • Hopefully we'll get the crying with santa picture.  But we are planning on getting some pro pics with the kids this weekend, one where both are wearing red or reddish tops and another where DS is in his faux santa outfit and DD is in her santa-esque dress.  I have some santa figurines and we might use those or some ornaments.

  • I just did ours.  I have a pic of each twin holding the pompom of a santa hat on the ends. 2 pics of  DD#1  in the center 1)pulling a fake present out of the santa hat and then 2) one of her trying to put the hat on in the center, And the words "May you find small wonders and happy surprises this holiday season.
