Watery, teary eye - but not crying ???

I noticed yesterday that my 5 month old was having tears come from his left eye (like he was crying) but he wasn't crying at all....it also has been going on today. Has anyone else experienced this? He is perfectly fine and happy, but I can't figure out why there is tears coming from his eye...its not pink or swollen, just really watery??? Any ideas/help?

  • It could be a clogged tear duct.  You can massage the inner eye socket next to his nose and that should help.  If it's the beginning of an infection and you BF, a couple drops in the eye will clear it up.

lula has this often too - so at risk of sounding like a total dummy - a drop of BM in the eye?  really?

  • BM is amazing magic juice.  It can clear up eye infections, diaper rash, and nasal congestion.  I'm sure it has other uses (beside food) too but those are the ones I know and have used.  :-D
