Went to a H1N1 clinic today......
Omg what a madhouse. I am in Toledo, Ohio and a women who just gave birth to twins last week passed away from H1N1 so it has caused some panic. In fact, there were a lot of pregnant women there. I got in line and I figured I would be there for hours. I got lucky and they took the pregnant women and moved us to the front of the line. I was sooo happy they did that, I don't think I would have lasted hours in line. There were a few people who made a big fuss over it.

Oh god, I may go to one tomorrow with my freakin' un-napped 2.5 year old (the clinic is during his nap time). Neither of us can get the vax through our dr's, so I was going to drag us both to a public clinic. They told us to show up an hour early..... I'm *dreading* it and comtemplating skipping and waiting out our dr's....
I am so so so glad I didn't have to wait hours on end at an H1N1 clinic! There is a chain of healthcare clinics around here called US Healthworks. I waited about 20 minutes for mine.
Of course, it wasn't free like the H1N1 clinics...I had to pay a $24 administrative fee. But it was well worth it because I have zero patience for large crowds.
My employer is offering it if you fall into certain categories. Pregnant women is one of them so I reserved my spot on Friday. Luckily though when I had my OB appt yesterday they had it so I was able to go ahead and get the vaccine instead of waiting!

UGH. I guess the good news is that it's over and you got your shot. I guess it could've been worse. I can only imagine how crazy it was. No fun, I'm sure!
I was going to have to go to our public flu shot clinic tomorrow and deal with the same thing, but "luckily" I had some bleeding over the weekend and had to go to L&D. I asked if they could give it to me there. They did! I was sooooo happy. No madhouse for me!
Have they confirmed that yet? DH and I live in Perrysburg and DH works at WTOL 11 and said they are still waiting on the test results to see if it was in fact H1N1. I freaked out for a minute too when I heard the story but she was already high risk with twins, she had bronchitis and pneumonia also. I was just wondering because I haven't heard but until they confirm it, I'm not getting a big yank about it. JMO.
That's good that you did then. I'm not against getting the vaccine in anyway, but I just don't want to get it for personal reasons. I'm glad you made the decision you did though!

I empathize, completely.
I had to wait in line for myself, then I had to wait in line another day with my 15-month old, and we'll have to wait in line for her AGAIN in another month so that she can get her second round of it!
It is still so amazing to me that neither my OB nor my daughter's pediatrician have the vaccine. Those seem like very good places to reach pregnant women and children to me!
P.S. I live in Johnstown (the Columbus area) and my uncle who is a CFD lieutenant and therefore paramedic as well told me last weekend that they've been having to take ladies in as of late for H1N1 after they've given birth. (I had been talking with him about the lady from Toledo that passed away.) H1N1 is so incredibly terrible.
