stretch marks after birth?

ok so i was reading an earlier post and saw that some people get them after they give birth. how does that work? i mean, why after? you would think you where safe then.

    I think it is that they are there before you give birth, but you can't see them until after.

    I got more DURING labor and a few have cropped up since. but honestly, I doubt you'll care about the stretch marks when you look in your amazing baby's face! 

    I get new ones on my boobs because of engorgement

    Maybe as the belly .. deflates(?) your skin is able to show them ..?Confused

    I got them on half, yes half, of my stomach after I had my baby. My doctor told me it was because something or other. I don't remember. It was a cruel joke. They are tiny stretch marks that I don't really see anymore at least.

    To the woman above who said you won't care once you look into your baby's face. You are a bigger woman than I am. I do not see my stretch marks as a badge of honor. I see them as what they are. Ugly and big on my hip bones. This is whether or not I'm melting at the site of my first son's beautiful face.
