Ooookay. Just because my son's name is Noah does not mean he is Noah INCARNATE. I highly doubt he'll grow up to build a wooden ship and stockpile two of each animal in the event of a flash flood that destroys humanity or something. Quit referring to him as God's Little Boatbuilder before I beat you to death with the VeggieTales version of Noah's Ark.
Damn, now he's going to end up working at an ironworks and build ships and I'll have to disown him.
Re: A moment to vent about my child's name.
That's a legit reason. I wouldn't name him after an ex (though I would need to have one...). DH wanted to name him Cody, which is a really sweet name.
Also his dog's name.
Yeeeeah.
Thanks! I'm pretty fond of it now.
And for the record, I named him after a football player, not a bearded dude on a boat.
I love the name Matilda. It's so old fashioned and pretty. (My name is Emily, which used to be old fashioned, so I dig it.)
But just think, when she's older she's going to find that book and be stoked.
Yeah when I was like 13 someone started singing me a song that had my name in it too me. Needless to say I was freaked out. Now I have heard the song but hope they don't do that to your LO.
Thanks! I liked the current fashion of older names, but wanted something that wasn't common. I've been meaning to buy the book for her. I loved it when I was little.
I so wanted it to be a surprise, but DH is deployed and needed to know so I had to find out.
When I think of Noah I think of my best friend, who happens to be named Noah, so... clearly not named after the bearded one. But my MIL is a nutjob. I hadn't thought of the Notebook though, I love him.
