I painted 5x7 white canvases to hang in my daughters nursery. I left the canvases white, painted purple flowers in different ways on each canvas and then painted a letter in her name over it. But it looks like the letters got a little lost and I'm thinking about outlining them. This worries me for 2 reasons. One, I don't want to ruin them by doing this, they came out pretty good. And, two, I have no idea what color to outline the letters in. The nursery has light lavender walls, her bedding is shades of purple, green and white and her furniture is espresso. Do I outline in black? silver? brown?
Here's
a picture of one of them to give you an idea. Although, some of the
canvases are more covered by flowers than others, so some letters sit
completely in a flower. THANKS!
Re: Artistic help please
I don't think you need to outline the whole letter with one color.
Where the blue flower touches the green, just seperate the two with a thin white line. Here, I tried to photoshop it to show you what I mean (sorry, it's not very good, I kind of rushed through it.
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
I see what you mean. That could work. Thank you!
We are keeping her name secret till she's born, but I promise to post pictures of everything once it's all done!
Are all the letters in the middle of the square, like the "A" is on the one you showed? It does look a little lost in the picture, but I'm wondering if they would "pop" more when they are all in order.
I think you did an awesome job. It is really pretty!
