1st Trimester

Sooo how did you find out you were pg????

Was it planned? Unexpected?? Trying for a long time??

DH was driving me to the Houston airport for a work trip when I got a text from my DD stepmother telling me Emma had a dream I was pregnant. I laughed and thought nothing of it. After thinking about it in the car I counted up my days and realized I was due to have my period that day and hadn't started. I'm pretty clockworth. I went to my meeting in New Jersey. By day 3 of the meeting I was feeling pretty miserable (sick ALL day) and still no AF so that night I took the hotel shuttle to a gocery store for a test. My roommate knew that I thought I maybe prego and was waiting for me at like 10pm when I got back. Well my dumb butt went pee cause i had to go so bad and forgot to bring the stick in with me!! So we had to wait till next morning.... where poof! 2 pink lines appeared!!

  • Both planned.

#1--waited until AF was due and POAS.

#2-drove myself nuts peeing on sticks starting at 9DPO and seeing the faintest of lines. :)

  • We were trying for 15 months.  We had just had all our diagnostic done with the RE and were just waiting for our first consult with him on November 17.  I usually test every month around when my period was due.  This month I was feeling really weird and had a feeling I might be pregnant.  I took several tests and they had really really faint lines.  I thought I was imagining them.  I finally took a digi and it said Pregnant!

It was really a great feeling to call the Re's office and cancle my appointment and ask then to forward everything to my OB.

  • I took a test at work to ease my mind since we have been planning our big destination wedding in August.  The venue, the dress and eveything else had deposits already.

I almost passed out on the bathroom floor (gross) when it turned positive.

So... looks like we will have one more guest at the wedding :)

  • That is so neat! :)

My husband and I recently got married in July of this year. We waited until marriage to have sex. I stopped taking my birth control because I didn't feel safe taking it will all the lawsuits against it right now (Yasmin). At first, I had the baby bug like crazy...and we weren't too careful...but the baby bug would come and go. We decided that we would be more careful and wait until next summer to start trying. Although, I had been praying that God would give us children in His timing. I realized on Halloween that my period was late, however, I don't have very regular period. Yes, it comes once a month, but it is always late/early. I decided to take a test anyways and wasn't expecting anything because I felt like AF was about to show up (very crampy). I looked up and saw "pregnant"...started freeking out...and took tons more tests after that. lol

We were suprised, but are very excited!

  • We had been trying for 3 months. The month I got pregnant was actually the first month I wasn't having any symptoms, other than feeling really hot all the time.

  • This was a planned and very much desired pregnancy! I charted so I knew when I ovulated and when I should test, although I couldn't wait and got a faintest of faint line at 9dpo, a darker line and a 'pregnant' digital at 10dpo!

  • DH and I had decided we would start trying this fall.  Based on everything I had read about BC, I thought it would take at least 30 days to return to a regular cycle, so August was my last month on BC.  We tried one day during the time I thought I might ovulate in September.  The week I should have started I was feeling bad, but figured I was late because I had been under a lot of stress at work and had been working around the clock.  Plus, I never had a regular period if not on the pill.  As the week progressed I got even sicker and assumed I had caught the flu.  DH finally made me go to an urgent treatment clinic because I was so sick and that's where I found out!  It was a HUGE shock because we never expected it to actually work the first time around!
  • We had stopped using protection about 5 months ago, but I had no idea when I was ovulating. I got PG the first cycle I started charting, and also started taking Metformin for my PCOS the same month we conceived. :)

  • Ours was planned and we had been trying for a couple of months.

    I found out by POAS.

  • Thats really neat about the dream.

Ours was totally unexpected.  We conceived about a week or two after our wedding.

I had implantation bleeding that I orginally thought was me starting my period.  But then it stopped (which is weird because I never spot and my period is also like clockwork).  So a few days went by and I decided to test just to be sure and it was positive!

  • My daughter has done that before... dreamed things before they happen... kinda freaks me out... hoping she has a dream if its a boy or girl...

  • i had no idications of ovulation.  my temp didn't shift and my fertility monitor didn't indicate ovulation!

i was thinking i was late and was laying with my son to get him to nap, and thought i should take a test.  i had a weird twinge in my abdomen and thought "well wouldn't that be weird?" and i POAS and guess what?  baby!

  • Well after we had to wait two cycles to try again, we thought we would just have the attitude "it will happen when it happens." So first month trying I was due to get AF that day and for some reason I thought I would take a test even though I was only 11 dpo. Well a very faint line showed up and here I am!

  • We had been off BC for 4 months, and when my period didn't come I tested a couple days later and it came back positive!
  • We are another classic example of why pull and pray does not work!  I stopped taking BC so my body could regulate itself before we "start trying" in a year.

Then, not long ago, I noticed my breasts were tender but this is normal for me a few days before AF arrives.  However, oddly as is sounds I thought my nipples (weird I am posting about this lol) looked "different".

My husband says "Are you pregnant?" and I laugh like, "yeah right".  Next thing you know I am taking three pregnancy tests that all are showing positive.

A little shocking at first but exciting all the same!

  • I tried BC for about 6 months and had adverse reactions and decided at that point that I didn't need it and that God would know when the timing was right and for us, it came completely out of left field.

We weren't trying but weren't being overly cautious, never are. Prepared for anything. I realized I was late, had been getting a little light headed at work and had been sleeping a LOT more than usual. Called a girlfriend and told her what was up and two days later I POAS and that plus sign appeared before I was even done peeing.

  • The first one was planned and I tested at 13dpo. The second was planned and I tested at 12dpo.
  • 3rd month trying, the week prior to AF, I was extremely fatigued, like I had run a marathon and I was having very mild cramping like AF was coming.  My friend was like that could be PMS but I had never experienced fatigue that extreme before AF.  I would complain about these symptoms to my mom and she was like I bet you are pg.  I kind of figured I was pg by the end of the week but we were trying to hold out on POAS until DH's birthday.  We could not wait any longer and POAS at 16 or 17 DPO, 2 days before DH's b-day.

  • We have been trying for over 5 years.. we went thru fertility meds. I tested at 10 dpo, 11dpo, 12dpo and all positive so far. My beta is Monday
  • We planned to try in September and I just never got my period.  I never took a test. We kinda just new. I called my doctor and made all the necessary appointments. At 6 weeks I had an ultrasound to confirm what we "knew", lol.
  • This baby was very much planned/prayed for. I was charting (have for years as BC) and all that. This was our sixth cycle trying. I tested at 15DPO and the test was positive before I could even pull it out of the cup. Aw yeah. I dipped a digital and up popped "pregnant" within ten seconds. We are incredibly excited!
  • All 3 pregnancies were planned. I had a m/c back in July.  All 3 times the days seemed to go by SO slowly.  I know I would test a few days before AF was due.  Got +HPT a few days early all 3 times.

  • Our was a surprise. I had switched my birth control from Yaz, because of severe leg cramps, to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo the month before. I was 5 days late and just thought it was the new pill. I wasn't feeling good one day and decided to test. Got a postive and too 2 digitals after that to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
  • We just found out today!!! I could not believe my eyes. We're so excited!

We stopped taking the pill in September. We didn't know how long it would take and we have been wanting a baby for a long time. We got pregnant last year, right after we got married (very unplanned!!). We found out at 11 weeks that the baby's heart had stopped beating and we ended up having a D&C the following week. Terrible experience to say the least!! We waited to try again until we were in a more stable situation (my husband was finishing up his dissertation, etc).

BUT...We're currently buying a house and I just started a new job as well so we have a lot to be thankful for right now!!! Did I say we're excited??  I need to make a ticker now! :)

  • H and I had many discussions about kids. We both knew we wanted to have a baby, but we were in a bit of a tight spot, financially. We wanted to wait a year and give ourselves time to get a little more settled before we brought a baby into the picture.

Well, it looks like life had something else in mind :) I was a few days late, but didn't think much of it because that has happened to me before. I wanted to have a drink that night. So, to ease my mind, I took a pregnancy test just to make sure I wasn't pregnant. And sure enough, there it was: a positive.

I won't lie, I was a little shaken at first, but by the time the doctor confirmed the pregnancy I couldn't have been more excited. H was excited from the get-go. You couldn't wipe the smile off of his face. :)

  • We have a 7 month old and about a month ago we thought it would be a good idea to try for a second. Then our son stopped sleeping at night and we decided to wait longer but turns out at this point I was already 6 weeks pregnant. Since I'm breastfeeding my cycles aren't regular so I had no idea and even after getting a bfp I thought it was negative because I was sure I wasn't pregnant and threw the test  out. Then I looked at the instructions a while later and realized the test was positive. I'm now 9ish weeks (need an ultrasound to date it)

This is so crazy because this happens to me sometimes, too!!! However, I didnt dream about this pregnancy. My story is kinda funny, though :) I am a photographer and was shooting a wedding one saturday last month, and while I was getting ready to leave, I realized I had back cramps but no AF. I checked my phone calendar to see when I should be expecting it, only to realize my cycles are exactly 25 days apart and I was 4 days late. I text BF, now expecting daddy, who was on a zoology camping trip for his class and he said, dont worry- probably just stress.  On the way to wedding, I stopped for lunch and bought 2 dollar store PTs. I couldnt wait until that night to take them- I have anxiety issues lol, so I went to the public library and got a faint positive shortly after the alotted time it says to wait. That freaked me out because I had been wanting a baby for over a year but not trying for one bc dad and I are still in school. Anyway, I was nervous so I checked out a pregnancy book lol and went to the wedding. NO one was there yet... wedding was running 2 hrs behind schedule. So, just to see if the other test was a flop because the timing was weird on the result... lol I took ANOTHER test... AT THE CHURCH! Well, then God really had me confused b/c it was negative, even after 10 min... but I kept both tests to show BF when he got home... I couldnt believe I would have the bad luck to get one of each (+,-) and not have been smart enough to buy three in case I needed a tie breaker! Oddly enough, over an hour later, I looked at the tests again to find negative test had changed its mind to positive!

Thinking to myself "stupid dollar store tests!", I went to walmart at 11:30p that night after the reception, and bought a 3pk of early response tests and took two of them that night at my parents (I hate staying home alone!) Both pos. Took another in the morning, Positive... lol oh the shock when BF came home fromt he camping trip to find out he was going to be a daddy and LO's projected due date is father's day next year! :)

  • Planned. I stopped the pill in July, charted in August, didn't chart in September. I didn't think anything happened that month I had been crampy, pretty sure AF would be there by Saturday. I tested on Wednesday just to be sure and nothing. Saturday came along, I spotted and that's not normal for me. I waited until Sunday morning @ 7am, finally POAS and saw the faintest line. I took 2 more test that day and for sure we were pregnant!! Happened way faster than I imagined but couldn't be happier.

  • I'll save the smart a$$ answer I originally thought of......."Well, I found out cause I peed on a stick...." LOL

We decided to go off the pill in July.  BFP July 26.   M/C August 5th.   We decided we definitely wanted to try again.  So as soon as I started my period Sept 1 we were ready to go.  I work with a nurse who used to be a midwife in Africa, so she told us to start at the first day of the period, then on day 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 (for good measure) those were the days to have sex.   So we did, like clockwork! We closed on our house Sept 25th.  I had weird dreams (something about helping Britney Spears escape from her dad....don't read Perez before bed, lol)  and thought something was up.  I peed on a stick in between trips to the old house and the new one.  It was positive!  I was kinda shocked because I didn't expect it so soon.  So I peed on two more, sent my hubby to be an MMS text (our iPhones had just been updated.....what an awesome first picture message!!!!) and called the doc!

We measured a little further along at my first appt than I had caluculated, so apparently I O'ed a little early, and we got preggo on vacation.  I remember the day exactly.  I was fixing my hair, getting ready to go for lunch, and he says "come in here, and lets make a baby" LOL  He's so romantic.
