Bright red cheeks = teething?

My DS is 4.5 months old and has super bright red cheeks right now.  He has a bit of a cold but no fever.  I BF and he doesn't get any solids or formula, so it couldn't be something he ate.  Unless it was something I ate, but I didn't eat anything unusual today.  I didn't use any cream or lotion on him, so I don't think it's an allergic reaction to something he came into contact with.  I don't remember my DD getting bright red cheeks when teething, but I googled it and it looks like some kids do.  Did your kid have red cheeks when they were teething?  Can you tell I'm freaking out a little here?

  • I think so.  My DS's cheeks never got red but but DD's do.  She only has two teeth so far, but she had red cheeks when they were coming in.   They are bright red today, and she's been crabby and sucking on her hands all day (and she kept me up half the night last night!) so I think we are working on another tooth.
