I just can't do it anymore. MS has me where I just can't swallow or stomach water. I know it doesn't make any sense, but yes, WATER "tastes" disgusting right now.
Is there anything else that counts towards our daily required intake? Any tricks any of you ladies are using to help?
At this rate, my LO is going to dehydrate and shrivel up down there!! ![]()
Please help.
TIA.
Re: Trouble getting down required daily water...HELP
How about seltzer?? It's carbonated so it's not awful and it has a little bit of natural flavor... no sugar, no artificial sweetners.
Also, I think if you're having that much of a problem you could probably sub in ginger ale or some sprite... maybe even try adding a splash of cranberry juice for some vitamin c? hope this helps!
Remember that anything you drink has water in it. In the book what to expect when you're expecting, they say that even milk counts toward water intake because 3/4ths of it is water... so when I'm too queasy to drink enough water, i try my best, drink other things (a glass of OJ, a glass of apple juice, both with nothing added to them like sugars and stuff... a glass of ginger ale, a glass of milk, i try to do plain water in between each, and also vitamin water once in a while because the "defense' kind helps my queasy tummy.
Fruits also have plenty of water in them, so try oranges, watermelon, mandarin oranges, anything that is juicy. Don't panic
When I was pg with DD I would buy those powder packets of propel and mix in half a packet in my water quite a bit. The flavor helped me drink water. Then once the m/s passed at 14.5 weeks, I didn't have to use it anymore.
m/s sucks. I'm really hoping I don't have it with this pregnancy.
GL to you.
ETA: Propel has B6 in it which helps with m/s.
THIS exactly! I forgot to include lemon in my post, HOW I forgot what I'm LOVING, I'm not sure, but oh my god... the more the better. I went out to breakfast this morning and asked for water with lemon... and stole everyone's lemon at my table, so I had 4 in one glass... MMMMM... and it helps the queasy feeling too!
You ladies are awesome! Thank you.
This is may be sad, but I am printing this and darn well plan on trying ALL of these suggestions!!! I need all the help I can get.
ditto to the lemon. it makes the water taste better and helps with m/s
also, fruit can count towards fluid intake. grapes, watermellon, etc all have a high water content so if fluids just don't work there are still other options. obviously, drinking is the best choice though.
i can't drink bottled water at all. i swear i can taste the plastic, so i only drink it out of a glass.
