mom's of girls who are potty trained

What do you do re: wiping pees with toilet paper?  Do you have them reach from behind or the front?  DD just started PT on Friday and I tried teaching her to reach from behind but she can't get far enough under to do any good.  So then I started just having her stand up to wipe but I'm not sure that's the best idea.  I'm hesitant to have her reach from the front because if she poops, that doesn't help with the 'wipe front to back' idea.

    For now, I still wipe her. I have her get off the toilet and put her hands on the floor (when we're in a public restroom, I tell her to touch her shoes). Probably not the best way to teach independence, but I'd like her to be clean.

    She just gives her self a dab from the front.  No real 'wiping'.

    As for poops, she has a clean break, if you know what I mean, 99% of the time.  I let her wipe her bottom herself.  And I do one final swipe, usually, too.  But like I said.  Clean breaks.

    She pats the front with tp while still seated. I double check when she's off the potty. I wipe poops.

    It's really the same for us as well. The front-t-balk wiping would be just too challenging for her, so I take what I can get, which is a little dab of two from her after she's gone.
