Bad idea to wear silk dress?

I have an event to go to this afternoon and plan on wearing a black silk dress. However, I'm still nursing and will bring DS with me...so I'll be nursing him when needed.  It's been a long time since I've dressed up so will this be a bad fashion mistake? I'm afraid some milk might get on my dress and I will walk around with wet spots on my dress?  I really like the dress but if bad idea I'll have to run out to find something to fit.

  • Wear what you feel most comfortable in, if you're worrying about it now you maybe worrying about it the whole time and not able to fully enjoy yourself?

  • If I have my baby, I expect that I will be covered in wet spots be it milk, spit up, whatever. I just wear whatever I want - I could care less if I have spots or not. I would wear the dress anyway.

  • i'd say go for it, maybe bring some form of cardigan or shawl to cover it should something happen.

  • I would, but wear some good nursing pads.  I have yet to leak out of Lasinoh pads. I wear them all day.  can't do that with my washable ones or Gerber.

    Have fun!
