When do you think you'll deliver?

Early?  On Time?  Late?

Just curious!

Re: When do you think you'll deliver?

  • Whenever my little man is ready to come out!

  • For some reason I'm thinking late this time around. With my first I was early but for some reason I'm getting the vibe "late".

  • Probably late.  I'm late for everything.

  • on time.  My OB won't let me go late by more than a few days.

  • I hope early.(after 37 weeks of course).but with my luck probably the latest possible..lol
  • I've thought I'd go early from the beginning.  I don't know why.
  • I have already been told that I will most likely be induced before my edd again (3rd time!).  My girls were 8-14 on her edd and 8-2, 16 days early.
  • Late.  My mom was late with her 1st too, several days.  I just have a feeling we'll have a stubborn baby who doesn't wanna leave it's nice warm home, lol!

  • I was early with my first so I expect to be early again.
  • early like with my son.He was 2 weeks early.
  • My OB keeps saying Valentine's Day even though my EDD is 2/27, so this makes me think early.
  • DS came 3 weeks early...so I am *hoping* this one will be a little early too!
  • My first was 8 days late, and then only arrived by induction, so I'm thinking maybe late.

  • 38 weeks.

  • My midwife says that you normally mimic your mother's first pregnancy the first time around... And my mum gave birth to her first on her due date! So I'm guessing on time!

  • I assume early. My first was 6 weeks early, my second was 4 weeks. I would LOVE to go full term this time :)

  • Crystal ball says sometime between 38-42 weeks. Stick out tongue
  • Either early or on time, my family has a history of delivering early with their first babies.
  • I have a "feeling" baby will be early by 2 weeks or late by 3 days. I don't know where this is coming from. This is our first baby so I'm not sure either way. It's funny because I don't have a "feeling" on if baby is a boy or girl.?

  • I am hoping to make it at close to my dd as possible.  However, I work retail and am on my feet over 40 hours a week.  Most of the girls that I work with ended up delivering early.  This is our first, so I have no clue!
  • At 37 weeks.  My OB already told me that with the GD, Progesterone, and blood pressure issues that if I make it to 37 weeks they are going to induce me.

  • I have to have a scheduled c-section this time around, owing to the emergency c-section I had with my daughter last time; so, within the week leading up to baby's due date.

FYI: This totally bums me out! I'd like to let he or she bake for as long as possible, and I'm pretty irritated that they're going to go in for the little one early. Of course, with my first child, I was nowhere near ready to deliver on my due date (hence the Pitocin induction), so hopefully they'll allow me to get close to le bebe's due date anyhow. (Doubtful though - when do hospitals ever listen?...)

  • I'm thinking early.

So far most of my pregnancy has followed in my dad's side of the family. All the woman have delivered early I was a month early. For the past 5 generations including me the girls come first followed by the boys, really odd.

  • This pregnancy has been textbook so far. Uterus measuring exactly where it should, weight exactly average. I feel like this baby is an "on time" baby.

  • Early!  Sorry, but I am not one of those ladies who think you are super mom if you hold it in as long as possible or want to "just let nature take its course".  My husband has a job that he must schedule off with the state as well so that he does not get scheduled for trial and I work too so we MUST know the exact date of delivery and can't be surprised if I go into labor on my own.  I am also pushing 5'1" so there isn't a lot of room in this belly.  My doctor said if I start to contract or any signs that baby will come after 36 weeks she will go ahead and schedule delivery.  But we will have a DEFINITE date around 38 weeks, will not go past then.  Plus, I will more than likely have c-section (which I am completely ok with BTW).
  • I was 2.5 weeks early with DS, so I am thinking early.  Hopefully, not earlier than that.

  • My mom delivered her first on her due date (the 27th in fact), and I'm due the 27th as well (different months though), which would be a good day for  me! I was born 3 days late, so we'll see. I just am not feeling early, but who knows. most babies I know lately have been born about a week early.

  • My mom delivered both her kids early, so if genetics plays a role, I think I will be a few days early.  I hope I'm a few days late, because right now LO is due on a Thursday and I would like him to hold out until the weekend so I don't have to make the 45 minute commute from where I work to the hospital in labor, lol.
  • Due date right now is April 15

OB wants to change it to April 1 because LO is growing so much, so quick.

I think I'm having this baby March 31 because my mom said. She also told me, I would get pregnant right away and find out at the bieginning of August. Yeah, she hit that one on the head.

You just made my blood boil.  I would research early induction and babies born before they are ready.  I would not risk my child's life on it working for my schedule.  5'1" is plenty big enough to go to term.  Any doc that would induce or schedule a C early for no true medical reason needs their license yanked.

  • If I make it that far, I willy most likely have my c-section at 39 weeks.

yeah- weird response!  Seems like there are many women around your height, and plenty shorter, so I don't really see how that plays a part in anything.

And I don't think anyone mentioned being super mom for letting her child be born when it was ready to.

To the OP, I think I will be late.  I don't care when it is, more important to me is that my OB is on schedule at the hospital.

  • I am thinking early. I had my daughter 2 weeks early, my middle child ob his due date, and my last child was a scheduled c-section. Hopefully, my son will be here early too.Wink
  • Both my nieces were two days late so my oldest sister swears I am going to deliver on January 27th.

Just to spite her I want to deliver any OTHER time.

Yes, I know this is petty but she has been driving me nuts for months now.

I would like to go as close to my due date not because I think it makes me a "super mom" (I don't compare myself to other mothers), but rather because due date guesstimations are not an exact science and can be off. I'd like for my child's gestational period to go for as long as both nature and my doctors will allow. More power to your for whatever your choice may be though.

  • Early.

I cheated b/c it's twins so term for us is 37 weeks but I would love to push it to 38 weeks or more if I can!

This is twisted logic. I am barely 5'2 and pregnant with twins. There may not be a lot of room there but our bodies are made for this. It's not a supermom thing, it's "I want my babies to be born healthy." I am trying more than anything to get to 37 weeks atleast and you are saying that you want to induce early?

    Wow.
