I just let DS CIO...accidentally

Was putting him down for a morning nap and he wasn't cooperating. I clipped him in his swing and he wasn't asleep, but was happy and playing. I jumped in the shower and as soon as I turned the water on, he started crying. I took the fastest shower of my life, but I swear to you I had barely rinsed my hair -- three minutes total -- and the crying stopped. I literally jumped out of the shower all wet and ran to his room (fearing he had somehow tumbled out or something...you know, every mother's fear)...he was SLEEPING. Amazing.

Now, I realize he's too young to CIO...and this was not intentional...but part of me was like, "wow. It works."

  • I wouldn't let him cio for like an hour or anything - but so you can take a shower...I wouldn't worry about it or feel guilty!

i have foud that putting Carter in his bouncy seat right in the bathroom with me keeps him so happy - i don't know if its the sound of the water or the steam or what - but 90% of the time I can take as long of a shower as I want and he stays haooy (but he won't sit in his bouncy seat for more than 5 minutes in other rooms of the house)

  • Our LO doesn't like her crib (we've only had it a week) and we have been trying to get her to nap in it, but if we put her down drowsy but awake she wakes right up and starts screaming.  We don't mind her sleeping in our bed, but we don't have much room....and it kills the mood.

  • I misread your ticker -- didn't see the 3-mo. ticker -- thought you were letting your six year old still sleep in bed. I thought, "wow, I bet that would kill the mood." lol.
