I don't know how long she has been laboring but I think she is at least at 5 cm. I think the part that I am interested in is watching a NATURAL child birth.....they don't show too many of those on A BABY STORY. I am hoping to have a natural child birth so I am very interested in techniques that help with pain management and how bad the pain is and how well women manage pain.

stay at home as LONG as you can. You don't want to be 4 cm and in the hosp ... more likely to have interventions. If you can walk and talk through contractions, you MOST LIKELY are not as far along as you think you are.
when they tell you to walk, they mean a BRISK walk. Showers are great. Counterpressure with a tennis ball. Visualizing your cervix opening. Not fighting against the contractions, but welcoming them as doing their job.

Ditto all of this. Counterpressure is pretty much all I needed. Otherwise, I don't like any of the touchy feelly stuff. Remembering that each contraction was progress in the right direction helped me a lot too.
I didn't have time for anything else but I did need to move around a lot. I felt the need to change sides and sit up/lay down about every 3 minutes. I guess I was very antsy.
I really didn't think natural childbirth was so bad at all. That's not just the amnesia they tell you you'll have about it. I told DH that right after too. I'm looking forward to and hoping for another similar experience this time.

Re: is the live birth girl a bumpette?
This. That's why I'm watching.
Yeah, I think it's great. Do you know how long she's been laboring or how dilated she is?
