Water, 6 months (a little in a sippy). Juice, for me, probably a year or two unless constipated.
Just wondering, are you referring to the baby juice or regular juice or just juice in general? I'm at a loss of what to do with juice. lol
I know we aren't doing any juice in general until at least a year. It has so much sugar in it - and there really isn't a need for it unless they are constipated. GL!
I don't plan on giving juice till close to a year, maybe 9 months but if then it would be like 1 oz to 4 + oz of water diluted (unlesss constipated). I don't think they need juice, its just too much sugar and not good for their health or teeth ( I think kids get too much juice).
We have started giving L the tiniest amount of water in a sippy but mostly just to let him play with the cup and get used to it. He doesn't take much and I give it a few times a week when he is in his highchair or bumbo with tray. I think around 6 months or when we start solids I will offer the sippy with water more often.

I gave her 2 ounces of apple juice mixed with water for constipation tonight. I hate how they make things for babies that isn't recommended, like the baby juice. lol It just confuses me!
griffin doesn't ever get juice unless he's congested bad and i want to avoid milk (because it makes it worse)... or we're at a party or event and that's all they have. Otherwise he drinks milk or water. I don't see a reason to add in extra calories and sugar for no reason.

She is constipated - she needs help - you didn't do anything wrong - they will pretty much market anything they can to baby if they think it will sell. Also next time try any juice of purees that start with a P prunes, pears, peaches - those will get her moving faster then apple juice. GL!

This. And we're watering it down so it's 75% water and 25% juice. Juice is actually not something that is needed. My niece and nephew still get watered down juice as a treat and they're 7 and 5.
And there is no difference between Gerber (baby) juice and regular juice. You just have to make sure it says 100% juice and there's no added sugar. Pedi actually said that.
Re: When do you start juice ?
This is what I got from googling "when should you start giving babies juice."
Linky
Definitely no younger than 6 months unless pedi recommended for constipation, and then it should only be small (1oz) amounts.
Personally, I will not be giving DS juice until he's at least a year only, unless in small amounts for constipation.
