So I put my toe through the brand new hole in the one remaining pair of jeans I had that fit this morning... didn't realize there was a hole there! Guess wearing them every day and crawling around on the floor with DS finally caught up to them.

I had to go to a maternity store anyway to look for a present for my SIL who is also expecting.. Figured I'd see if they carried any long jeans and shockingly, they did. These pants are so comfortable I had them cut the tags off and I wore them out of the store. They're a full belly panel but I've got it folded down. Seriously, I'm 9 weeks people. This is insanity.

(I wore a pair of mat jeans until W was 12 months. Then I thought I'd had enough and burried them in the back of the wardrobe until next time...)

I needed belly band at 8 weeks and mat. pants at 11 weeks, and not from weight gain. Everything else was just too damned uncomfortable. Yay for comfy pants!

Maternity jeans are the best thing ever! I'm going to have to have DH pry them out of my hands and hide them when I no longer need them.

do they look at you weird if you go in there without a huge baby belly and start trying on clothes? i've been debating it - my pants were crazy tight through some serious bloat but that has calmed down and they're more comfortable but still tight. it doesn't help that a lot of my pants were close to tight before pg...

if you buy pants early in pg will they fit you through the whole pg? does the belly panel work that way? i'd hate to get something now that won't fit me when i have a real baby belly...

I just bought 2 pair of secret belly fit (or something like that) from Kohl's maternity line and I'm betting they'll last my entire pregnancy because of how stretchy the front panel is (they also have dress pants with the same cut). The panel starts low, so the tiny bump I have that was too tight in regular low cut jeans is comfortable, but the rest of it is so stretchy that it easily stays up (well, I have to occasionally tug them back up, but it's only a few times a day). I, too, started out with my regular clothes being a little tight... don't worry at all about what people in the stores think - it's all about comfort!

They definitely won't look at you funny. They offered to help me the second I walked in and when I said I was just looking for a gift at first they left me alone. Then she saw me browsing the jeans again and came back over to help. I said I really only wanted under the belly or no panel ones since I have no bump yet and she was like "oh that doesn't matter these ones will work the whole time!" which was good since they were the only style they make in long length. Honestly, I have a bump but only from about noon on, in the am its not there. It's not bloat its just like my muscles get tired of trying to keep it in at noon and give up or something. Bizarro...

Anyway, these will not fit me through my entire pregnancy but they will fit me for a long time I think. I have another much nicer pair of maternity jeans but I bought them at about 5-6 months when I was already about 20-30 lbs up if not more... so yeah, they're not gonna fit yet. I'm only 7-10 pounds up - and that is the real reason I needed new pants. But the belly part will fit for ages. It's the thighs and butt that I'll outgrow - but that isn't the same for everyone and you totally might not have that issue.

does your kohls sell maternity clothes?? mine doesn't!! i'm so jealous!! i *love* kohls!! i buy almost all my clothes there! lol..
