Has anyone been to this store? I would like to go, but I want to know if it's worth my 2 hour roundtrip. Is it way different than BRU? Do they have great prices?
I don't think its worth a two hour drive unless you need something very specific. They have more stuff (and lots more $$ stuff) than BRU so if you need to test drive $500 strollers, its worth a drive, but otherwise, not so much.

If you go, go early - it gets very crowded.
Thanks...mapquest said 1h9m to get there from Baltimore. Maybe we could do other things while we're there. Maybe we'll go next weekend, like early Sunday morning. I'll have to see if DH is up for that drive...he may say 'no'.
I actually preferred Great Beginnings over BBBaby, but that's how I got my DH to go at all - look honey! We can go to TWO places, not just one! (we're in the Baltimore area, too...it is about an hour drive). I would say the big benefit of GB was that they have a lot of stuff actually on their floor - strollers, car seats, rockers, other furniture. More than any other store I've seen actually, so I had a chance to try things out that I couldn't find anywhere else (like our beloved Zooper stroller).

i wanted to add that BBB isnt really an hour from baltimore. im in owings mills and think nothing of it to run over there for something. i usually take 29S to 495. i used to take randolph rd off of 29 but they added speed bumps ect so its just quicker to take 495. 45 mins tops. way better than BRU. i didnt fancy great beginnings as much though. but joes crab shack! i will definitely be going there this week while my sister is in town!
Don't forget to take your current Bed Bath and Beyond coupons with you to BBB (they don't take the expired ones)! I live in the Ellicott City/Columbia area, and it's definitely worth it for me to drive the 45 minutes to Rockville. Their customer service is excellent.

Crap..I've been throwing them away. They sent a completion coupon for the registry I created online and sent a 20% off the other day.
we got all our furniture at great beginnings in gaithersburg as someone else mentioned, awesome store and worth the drive. i did a lot of research on furniture before going so i really knew what i was looking for but all the high end furniture is there.....great staff too. we had it all delivered back up to bmore so we didn't have to make another trip and they put it all together!! came in half the time they had told us too!!!
Starting in January, GB will be open on Sundays. I was there last weekend and they had signs posted with the change of hours. I dont remember the Sunday hours so call before you go.
Both stores are worth the drive. BBB has a lot of the same stuff as BRU so check them out online first, esp if you are looking for something in particular. Prices are about the same, maybe a little higher but you can use the Bed Bath and Beyond coupons.

You could also go to Great Beginnings while you are down there...it is in Gaithersburg nearby.
