I am dumber than I had realized - tablecloth

I bought a 60 x 120 inch tablecloth. My table is 111 inches long. Why is the tablecloth shorter than the length of the table?

Oy vey.

I put in all of the table leaves. I laid out my table protector. I put books on top to flatten out the bumps and vinyl folds. I trimmed the edges since it should just cover the table. Then I went to see how the cloth looked, and, well, FAIL.

Grr argh. Glad I hadn't washed it yet. Anyone know of a store where I can buy a pretty tablecloth for Thanksgiving?

That makes no sense at all. However with a 111 inch table I would get longer than 120 inch anyway because I like a longer drop on the ends. With a 120 you will only have 4.5 inch drop on each side which looks funny to me.

I hate it when the chairs and my knees mess with the tablecloth. I like the standard drop on the sides, but on the ends a long drop drives me nuts.

I hear ya, I hate when the tablecloth hits my lap. Especially if I'm not wearing pants, it brushes against my legs and tickles. That is weird that it was too short though.

I agree that the drop was too short. But because the table does not appear to be a typical size, the next standard size would leave me with a 16 inch drop on each end which would be way too long. I hate this stuff.

You are funny. I am useless. If I get one that doesn't have a pattern that could perhaps work.

Funnier still ... OF COURSE Williams Sonoma makes one the perfect size, 70 x 126 for $132!!!! Goodness no. Someone will immediately spill red wine and that will be it.

Just fold it under to the length you want, iron a sharp crease and put it on the table folded under on the one end. If the folded end isn't long enough and it keeps coming undone they have this fusing tape you can iron in there to keep it together.
