Too early for "on purpose" smiles?

Pierce has smiled ever since the hospital, mostly just in his sleep. But lately I've noticed he's been smiling while looking at me, which he never did before, and that his mouth is open when he does it, so it's different than his sleeping smile.

Do you think it's an on purpose smile now, or is it still too early for that?

I have noticed this lately too. I think they are real ones...not just gas like before

Don't know. We didn't see "real" smiles until 6 weeks and we had to work for them! Now he just smiles when he looks at us, it is so sweet.
