Dog stepped on stomach - would you freak?

My 60lb lab got a little too excited this morning and stepped right on my stomach, only for about a fraction of a second before I screamed for him to get the eff off me.  I don't have any cramping or bleeding or anything but can still kinda feel where his paw was.  Would you worry?  I did already email the np to see what she has to say...

  • I wouldnt stress too much, it was probably only one paw (right?), so not all 60 pounds, plus, at 7 weeks the baby is tucked down WAY in your pelvic bone.  I know it is hard to not stress though, but the babe is super cushioned way inside of there!  :)

  • The baby is safe deep down near your pelvic bone.
  • I wouldn't stress too much, just try to avoid it happening again.  My dog is 125 lbs and I worry about her jumping on my stomach and I also worry about her knocking me down when we are playing.  Not that it was ever okay for her to step on my stomach (she weighs more than me), but I have been super careful around her since my bfp.
  • Your baby is protected very well in there. My dog does this frequently, as does my 20 pound son.
  • Thanks ladies!  Yeah I figure at this stage the little babe is tucked way under and is protected from that kind of stuff, but thought I would see what you all thought.  No more doggies on the bed I am afraid, they will be so sad!

  • I wouldn't worry.  The baby is so tiny & tucked away at this point there is no way it could have done damage.

  • Baby has a lot of cushion - don't worry.  I get upset with my dog too - she tries to jump on me and if I am not fast enough I get a foot to the stomach.  It aches in that spot sometimes (for like 5 minutes only)... but all is well with my little one.  Don't worry too much - I am sure everything is fine.

  • I had my 20lb dog jump down on my tummy @ about 5weeks & I totally freaked out, especially since I was a little sore afterwards.  However, it turned out just fine & I'm into 2nd tri already.  Like pp's said, baby is nice & safe in there, don't fret :)

  • Don't worry! My 80lb Doberman puppy does this all the time! I'm pretty cautious, but sometimes he catches me when I'm not paying attention.  He loves to be a lap dog, believe it or not! : )

my dog does it almost everyday -- i just called my hubs at work & told him we need to stop our dog from jumping up on the bed...ever since pregnancy, she wants to crawl up on top of me & sleep -- even on the couch or a chair! its weird & cute but she is 65-70 lbs & looks small, but is all muscle .. i cant handle it anymore!!

im not worried at all but i know this needs to stop ! :D

  • Between my 85 lb dog and my 24 lb son I have gotten a few kicks to the stomach, but this early on I am not too concerned. I sure you are fine!
