What are y'all doing for Christmas cards?

Surely there's going to be an "in" card this year!

I'm thinking about doing a bunch of small pictures of DD's smiling face and then writing "HAPPY holidays."

  • I think I am pretty much gonna do the opposite of yours...  I might use the lyrics You better not pout, you better not cry...Santa Claus is coming to town!  And have a picture to match each line.

I may have to do a more formal one for my parents and ILs though.  I can see this not going over well with them.

  • I *think* I am going to do a pocket xmas card  (think wedding invitations)

I am trying to descide what type of photo to use. I am going to work on it this weekend as I want to get them out right after thanksgiving.

I am thinking of DD sitting in front of xmas tree with cookies and milk? Not sure!

I did the "lights" last yr so thats out.

I also thought of copying what we all did with DAD but doing HO HO HO with different pictures. Cute?

  • I did our cards this week.

I have, "While visions of sugarplums dance in their heads..."

The girls have matching red plaid flannel nightgowns (DD1's was a x-mas gift last year, found DD2's at goodwill!!!), and I have two pics of them fake sleeping on our bed (white sheets) and then one of them laying in bed smiling.

  • I am thinking of doing the 3 pictures with Ho Ho Ho.

    or 3 pictures with J-O-Y.

we did xmas lights his first year, and then xmas cookies off of Santa's plate last year.

In front of an xmas tree I think!!

  • Prob a photo card, costco had the cheapest at 50 for $14.99 but now Walmart has 50 for $14. AND they ship for FREE!  So maybe Ill print there....  I saw last year when I took Madison all dressed up there was a family there all in long sleeve, long pant holiday pajamas and santa hats posing in front of tree and it was sooooo cute!
  • I LOVE the holiday jammies idea. I might steal it!

I am hand-making mine. We don't send that many out. I'll probably digitally design something with her photo (4x6) and then layer homemade paper crafting into that somehow.

Now I need to find cute Christmas pjs!

  • I'm not sure yet. I'll use Shutterfly cards with my Pampers GTG points. Last year I got the letters to spell out Noel, It was really cute.

  • I actually have *one* pic of DD smiling for real. It's from this fall, but I'll take any one of her where she's actually smiling! So I'll just be putting that on a Shutterfly card or something. I'll put a little more effort into birth announcements once #2 is here- I found a cute site that had some good ideas for pics of siblings together.

  • I'm hoping we can get a cute family picture at Disney during Thanksgiving like we did last year (which we used for last year's card). If not I'm clueless!
  • Oh, it's hopefully going to be so perfect.  The pic below, plus a pic from school where DD seriously has this look to the photographer like "I will kill you in your sleep" and DS is about to cry and plus a pic with Santa where I predict DD will either be giving her WTF look, "I hate you" look or crying.  Those three with a message like "Love. Joy. Peace." or something like that.  We'll include a normal happy photo inside but it should be hilarious.  The perfect "anti" Christmas card.

  • We did a flat card from Shutterfly.  It's 3 pictures of Elizabeth dancing (taken at a wedding we went to a couple of weeks ago, so she's all dressed up) and it it says "Celebrate the Season   Peace, love and joy from our family to yours" and then our names.  I think it came out really cute.
  • I don't usually do a photo card because my  kids like to pick out a card at Wal-Mart.

Usually we wind up sending something with a cat or a kitten on it because that's what they pick.  Sometimes I get prints made and stick one inside, but most people we send cards to see my kids at least once a month, so a picture isn't all that much of a big deal.
