Ugh Gisele was a disaster today.
She would crawl into my lap and sit there, then get down (on her own) and then cry. I would pick her back up, she would get down- realize she wasn't in my arms and cry.
She is cutting six teeth FOUR of them molars. NOT FUN in this house right now. And her nose is runny from teething (i hope its just that)
She wanted to be held all day. By noon i had it. I wore her FOREVER in our front carrier. She loved it. Obviously she is too big. I improvised today.
i saw a video on youtube of a woman carrying her toddler with just fabric. I grabbed my sarong from my bathing suit and wore her the rest of the afternoon. At first she was like WTF mom. But then she dug it and even fell asleep.
I seriously need to invest in the Ergo. Especially with our trip to the Bahamas coming up.
one bonus of wearing her- lol- she wasn't getting into her usual toddler trouble when she was down AND she wasn't crying.
Re: Now i understand extended babywearing
Oh awesome! I have a DIY moby but it hurts my back. I didn't ever try back carrying though.
I demand an Ergo for the next child. I told DH that decent carriers and a video monitor are non-negotiables. Oh, and a new crib. We used a metal one from a friend and you can hear the clangs through the monitor when she would drop pacis. And a new house, I refuse to cram another child in this tiny place. I'm not demanding at all. ha ha
Oh and I totally feel you on the teeth. Alaina's top molars broke through night before last and she's been a whiny mess since. I'm thinking this will go the route of the bottom molars and won't stop until the other side of the teeth come through. Poor kid!
I hope Gisele's come in super fast and she can get back to her toddler work.
The Bahama trip is sans airport. We are going on a cruise out of Baltimore which is an 1.5hr from us. So no airport- the Ergo would just be chilling walking around on the island- I am just going to rent a stroller on the ship- so i wanted to have a carrier too.
yup- we have 4 molars and 2 eye teeth coming in. THANKFULLY she is much happier today- this week has been hell.
I too- DEMANDED certain things for baby #2- non-negotionable- so i hear ya Jen. ~ my demands- a better rocker/ottoman, ergo and that's it
oh yeah, add rocker to my list. lol
i have a glider my friend gave us and you could feel the slats under the cushion. I'm still undecided on if I'll just make new/better cushions or demand a new recliner/rocker that i can move in my living room after. i sat in my bed to nurse dd and it sucked.
You should invest in a "woven" wrap because they are lightweight and can be worn in all weather and with bigger kids (like a 2YO).
I have Moby that I STILL use with DS and he loves it!
Using the sarong was a really good idea. Ben has been extremely clingy lately too (I think I told you that I suspect his 2 year molars are coming in)...and he's just too heavy for me to hold for any length of time. If you can find that YouTube clip of how to make it, could you email/PM it to me? Thanks!
And I'm glad she's having a better day today.
