I think each place is different, but after your due date they send you something for registering with them, like %10 off whatever was on your registry you didn't get. Could be wrong though..
At some point in my first pregnancy, BRU sent us a 15% (I think) off coupon to come in and buy everything on our registry that we didn't have yet. We didn't get everything, but just the items that we needed immediately that we didn't receive from showers.

This, except I know that BRU and Target will send the coupons to you before your due date.
Usually BRU and Target will send you a coupon for a certain percentage off things on your registry so you'll buy them there. Be careful. One of them is very picky about the coupon. The things need to be on your registry for you to use your coupon. Of course, I think this really depends on what kind of store you buy the rest of your stuff at and if the cashiers are lazy
Another tip: change your due date so they'll send your coupon before the baby comes. I have heard some ladies say that they didn't get the coupon until after their LO arrived. I changed my due date to my shower date because that was the date I would know what I still needed
BRU gives 10% off of any items left on your registry that you purchase. However, it is only good for one day. You can add all the things you still need to your registry and then go in and get it. It took forever to get mine. I did change the due date and still ended up getting it 2 weeks after! They said their policy is anywhere between 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after due date! So annoying!
A lot of stores will allow you to purchase whatever items and then when you get your coupon to get a price adjustment. You just need to verify with the manager as each store handles things differently.
