I was a "Kid Inventor" guest on the David Letterman show when I was 11. We were the first ones and then they made it a regular segment for a while. We had an Invention Convention at our school and the Milwaukee newspaper covered it. The David Letterman people saw it online and flew some of us out to NYC to audition for the show, and I was one who got on.
When I watch a scary movie, I am afraid to go in the basement for months. DH hates it because out washer and dryer are down there so he has to do all the laundry until I get over it.

I had my first DD when I was 16 and it took years for people to take me seriously as a parent.
My brother and his gf just had a baby, and she is 17. She has a hard time with this too, but in all honesty, she's a better mother than a lot of people I've met who are much older than her. She's awesome.

After I got migraines with atypical symptoms in 8th grade, I found out that I have a brain abnormality. The doctors don't know what it is, it's not hurting anything, and it hasn't changed at all. I'm not willing to get my head cut open to find out what it is so I'm cool with having an abnormal brain.
My mom is only 12 years older than me. She technically is my "step mom" but she is more of a mother to me than my biological mom (who I refer to as the egg donor) ever was!
My mom is an alcoholic and drinks and drives with my 7 year old brother. Yes we have contacted child services and the police; no they can't do anything until she is caught and my dad's in denial that she does it. She also has Hep C so drinking and having that sure is prolonging her life. I no longer speak to my mother.
wow, I am really taken by some of these responses. My mother was also an alcholic, ad sometimes she still has battles with it. Since LO has arrived, she has been doing so much better, but I cannot even tell you how difficult it has been. She used to drive with alcohol in a travel coffee mug when we were little. I have found bottles all over the house, and half-filled glasses under couches behind stuff in cabinets.

I'm really good friends with Doug Wilson's, from TLC (Trading Spaces), family! I have met him quite a few times as well. Was in his nieces wedding.
